My Writing Journey

A Romance Writer’s Gratitude

This week the November issue of GLAMOUR SA came out…

…and I was featured in it! Despite knowing about it beforehand (obviously), picking up the magazine and seeing myself in it was an experience. Not just because I was featured in it (though that is exciting), but because of why:

My writing.

It’s been five months since I heard about my publishing contract, and I can’t describe how blessed I’ve felt during that time. If you read my last post you’ll know that I’m still finding my feet in my writing career (and still will be for some time, I suspect). But as I said in that post, the positives help me to stay focused.

The fact that I’m featured in a prominent SA magazine as a Mills & Boon author before my first book has been released is definitely a positive.

I find so much joy in the small things about being an author. Seeing my name on my publisher’s website. Seeing my book on Amazon. Having author pages on Amazon and Goodreads. Because these things give me so much joy, I tend to Google my name and book often (I’m excited, okay). Today, I found the Mills & Boon cover of The Tycoon’s Reluctant Cinderella (not to be confused with my North American Harlequin cover) which my friends and family will (hopefully) see in stores:

It brings tears to my eyes to see my name on the books I’ve read for more than a decade. I’m so excited to share it with you, and I’m counting down the days to when I get to hold a copy in my hand (in the meantime, you can be pre-order your copy from any of the links under My Books).

I am so, so grateful.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post! I am grateful for you, too 🙂
